A skilled detailer with nothing online

Dan Pasquale is a solo auto detailer in Minnesota with a real specialty: classic and show cars, the kind of vintage paint and chrome most franchise shops won't touch. He had the skill, the hands, and a reputation built on word of mout, people had called him "Dan the Detail Man" for years. What he didn't have was a business identity. No name in the formal sense, no logo, no website, and no way for a new customer to find him or understand what he offered.

For a one-person operation, that gap costs real money. Every lead came through someone who already knew him. There was no front door for the people searching online for classic car detailing, no place to show the before-and-after work that sells a detail better than any pitch, and no simple way for a customer to describe their vehicle and request a price without a round of phone tag.

He needed a complete launch: a name and a brand that fit who he actually is, plus a website built around how a solo detailer really takes work. He was not interested in his site looking like every other detailing site, or navigating a booking platform he'd have to pay for and learn.

What he was working with
  • No business name, logo, or visual identity of any kind
  • No website — entirely dependent on word of mouth
  • No way for new customers to find or vet him online
  • Nowhere to show before-and-after proof of his work
  • Not especially computer-savvy — any tool had to be simple
  • A specialty in classic & show cars that wasn't being communicated
What he needed
  • A name and brand reflecting his vintage, hands-on craft
  • A custom logo credible on a truck, shirt, and invoice
  • A single, fast, mobile-friendly site explaining his services
  • Clear, visible pricing so customers self-qualify before reaching out
  • A before/after gallery to let the work speak for itself
  • A booking request flow with zero apps and no login for Dan

A whole brand, then a site to carry it

Because Dan was starting from nothing, this was as much a branding project as a web build. We worked through naming together, landing on Dan's Detail Works, where "Works" carries a vintage industrial heritage, then built the visual identity around it before a single line of the site was written.

The vintage badge logo

The centerpiece is a custom badge built in Adobe Illustrator: a hand-traced classic-car silhouette inside a crest, "DANS" set solid over "DETAIL WORKS" in outline, an Est. 2021 stamp, and a deep navy / chrome silver / cream palette chosen to photograph beautifully on a truck wrap and read cleanly on an invoice. Every element was drawn from scratch.

The family-named service menu

Rather than generic tiers, Dan's packages carry his family's names - the people who taught him that work done with your hands is worth being proud of. It turns a price list into a story, and it's the detail customers remember: The Vincent (Express Wash), The Theresa (Interior Refresh), The Ann-Marie (Full Detail), and The Franklin (Show / Classic). On top of the four core packages we added three Minnesota seasonal combos — The Salt Season, The Fairgrounds, and The Pollen Coat — built around how people actually drive up there, plus a 13-item à la carte menu.

The smart quote system

Detailing prices vary by vehicle size and condition, so a fixed "buy now" button would have been wrong, and a paid booking app would have been overkill for someone not glued to a screen. Instead the site uses a single intelligent quote form: vehicle year/make/model, size class, mobile vs. drop-off, the service of interest, condition notes, and preferred days. It runs on Netlify Forms, emailing Dan each request directly with no backend, no login, and nothing for him to maintain.

What was built
  • Custom badge logo and full brand palette designed in Adobe Illustrator
  • Hand-coded single-page site in HTML, CSS & JS
  • Family-named service menu: 4 packages, 3 seasonal combos, 13 à la carte options
  • Interactive before/after drag slider in the gallery
  • Visible pricing on every package so customers self-qualify
  • Smart quote request form powered by Netlify Forms — no app, no login
  • Sticky smooth-scroll navigation; fully responsive and fast-loading
  • Hosted free on Netlify via a GitHub workflow for safe updates

From word-of-mouth to a real front door

Dan's Detail Works went from a name known only inside his existing circle to a complete, credible brand with a home online. The badge gives him an identity he can put on a truck wrap, a work shirt, and an invoice. The site gives new customers a way to find him, see his work, understand exactly what he offers, and request a quote in under a minute.

It's everything a solo tradesman needs and nothing he doesn't: real craftsmanship presented honestly, a familiar face, and a finish you can see yourself in. Exactly the kind of calm, right-sized launch Sagewave is built for.
